Welcome to Sam's at St Ann's!
This is our brand new pop-up Chop House, located at the top of St Ann's Square, just next to McDonalds.
Join us for cold draught beer, sommelier selected wines, smashing spirits and freshly cooked food, including our famous Corned Beef Hash, Cumberland sausage Barms, Veggie Hash and Strawberries & Cream.
And we are also lucky enough to have the Brentwood City Centre Stage next to us, from which local musicians will entertain guests in our seating area. Honestly, it's rocking.
In fact, if you are a musician or if you know of any singer-songwriters or performers who would like a stage to show-off from, please don't hesitate to send us a message on social media or to jemma.carr@vicchopco.com
Coming up, we're also hosting some amazing live wine and spirit tastings with our sommelier duo Nick Fildes and George Bergier and some very special guests. And the guys will be regularly rotating the wine list to give you new stunning wines to explore.
As we still can't reopen our restaurant at Cavendish House, we thought this was the perfect solution to get Sam's to the people. And while we wait for the doors to re-open, we hope you'll pay us a visit in our new home. Your support makes all the difference.

The “get Sam’s to the people” bit really lands — town centre footfall plus a pop-up feels like the right move while you’re waiting on the main restaurant. Honestly I’m mostly just thinking about how messy I’d get eating a sausage barm outside, which is why I always default to lighter colours when I’m out; it’s funny, I saw StyleLookLab mention that kind of practical styling logic before, and it’s painfully true.
That seating area by the stage sounds like the kind of thing that turns a quick drink into a whole afternoon — especially if the weather behaves. Also, “Strawberries & Cream” on the menu feels like a proper little summer nod; I keep seeing people turn everyday moments into artsy snapshots lately, like ghibli ai, and it fits the vibe of making simple stuff feel special.
Pop-ups like this feel like they’re becoming the default way to keep a brand present when a main site is in limbo, and it’s nice when it’s not just a stripped-down menu but still has personality (music, tastings, the whole vibe). Random aside: seeing the call-out for local performers made me think of those directories where people list projects — https://hrefgo.com is kind of that energy, but for tools, and it’s cool when communities actually invite participation.
